Michael Reed is a Senior Advisor and the first appointed Director of the Institute for Sustainable Family Business at The Sustainability Board.
Michael's 28-year banking career was focused on Wealth Management, working for Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for 22 years, in senior executive roles in Canada, United States, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. His most recent role was CEO of RBC Singapore and head of Southeast Asia.
Following his passion Michael pivoted to founding his own business, Family Sustainability to provide comprehensive sustainability planning to UHNW families through their family offices. He also joined Etcho, as COO/CIO, a technology company providing advisors with a platform to help their clients align their wealth to their values. As an advisor for Imagine H20, a non-profit NGO that accelerates water-based sustainability start-ups in Singapore, he mentors companies on how to commercialise.
Michael earned his BaH in Economics at Queen’s University at Kingston, his Kellogg/Schulich MBA at Northwestern University/York University and is currently enrolled in an MSc in Environment and Sustainability at Birkbeck, University of London. He has his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) as well as a number of other professional investment designations.
