Frederik Otto is the Founder and Executive Director of The Sustainability Board (TSB). He co-developed the organisation’s first report on global boards' ESG preparedness in 2019 and has since grown TSB into a globally recognised think tank with focus on advancing sustainable leadership and governance. Frederik also is an Executive Advisor for TSB Global Advisors where he leads client engagements.
Frederik has 15 years’ experience consulting multinational companies on organisation strategy, having worked for FTSE250 and Global Fortune 500 companies. He was the first ally member of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism, he is a fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar, and member of Chapter Zero.
In 2023, Frederik co-created the Sustainable Leadership Preparedness Programme, where he teaches alongside 13 other acclaimed guest faculty experts.
Frederik also hosts the ‘Leadership Conversations by TSB’ podcast, which was awarded as one of the Top 60 Sustainable Business Podcasts on the web. He regularly authors reports and leads research on sustainability leadership and governance. He has been published five times in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, and in several other reputable publications.
Frederik has a diploma in Business Administration from the German chamber of industry and commerce, and further completed the Oxford Strategy Programme of Saïd Business School; the High Impact Leadership Programme of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership (CISL); and Sustainable Business Strategy and Credential of Readiness (CORe), both of Harvard Business School. He has also completed certificate courses with the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), INSEAD, and others.
